This blog primarily reflects my interests in Africa and economic develpment issues, especially those related to land and property rights. I will also include book reviews, and discuss other interests as well, ranging from economics of everyday life type things to evolutionary psychology to wry social commentary to music.
Quiet Griot is an assistant professor of economics and international studies whose primary research area is sub-Saharan Africa, particularly land issues, property rights, and informal institutions. Prior to academia, he worked in the world of development practice.
